FAQ
The most common questions about GTA 6, answered based on official information confirmed by Rockstar Games and Take-Two.
GTA 6 is confirmed for November 19, 2026. That date has already been pushed back twice officially — it was originally slated for 2025, then May 2026, before Rockstar locked in the current date, one week ahead of Black Friday in the US.
Updated based on official Rockstar Games communications (July 2026)
At launch, GTA 6 is coming exclusively to PlayStation 5 (including PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X/S. There's no confirmed date for PC or Nintendo Switch 2 — Rockstar is sticking to its usual pattern of launching on console first and bringing the PC version later (with GTA V, that gap was almost 2 years).
Pricing is now officially confirmed on both sides of the Atlantic. In the US it's $79.99 for the Standard edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition; in Europe (including Portugal), Rockstar has confirmed €79.99 and €99.99 for the same two editions.
Both include the exact same single-player story — there's no gameplay advantage either way. The Ultimate Edition adds 5 exclusive vehicles, 4 weapon variants, cosmetic items, access to 5 exclusive shops, and one extra side mission. Both include the Vintage Vice City Pack (a pre-order bonus), and Standard buyers can upgrade to Ultimate later.
Yes. Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026 and are already available. The game will also get a physical edition, but — as is now standard for this console generation — that edition doesn't include a disc with the actual game, just an activation code.
Yes. FNAC and Worten already have physical-edition pre-orders open for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, at prices close to the official ones (€79.99 / €99.99). Like the digital edition, the physical box doesn't include a disc with the game — just an activation code.
The action takes place in the State of Leonida, a fictional state inspired by Florida, with the iconic Vice City (a fictional version of Miami) as the main setting. The protagonists are Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval — the duo continuing the series' tradition of fugitive pairs, with Lucia being the series' first official female protagonist.
At launch, GTA 6 is officially described as a single-player experience. Rockstar has confirmed online will remain part of the game's future, but hasn't detailed how yet — there's no official information so far about a monetization model, features, or a release date for any eventual "GTA 6 Online".
Neither — but the reason is broader than it first looks: GTA 6 has no voice dubbing in any language. The original English voice track is the only one available in any region, as is standard for the series. As for subtitles and interface text, Rockstar has only confirmed a Brazilian Portuguese variant, with no separate European Portuguese version. In practice, a Portuguese player has to choose between reading in PT-BR or switching subtitles and interface to English.
Updated based on the official Rockstar store page (July 2026)
So far, Rockstar has released two official trailers: the first in December 2023, and the second on May 6, 2025. There's no confirmation yet of when a third trailer will arrive.
